We were on our way to Stone Mountain, Georgia until we stumbled upon a sign that said, "Juliette, Home of Fried Green Tomatoes", or something like that. Immediately I said, "we are taking a detour!"...and we did. Okay. so "Fried Green Tomatoes" is my all time favorite movie. And it was the last movie that I saw in a theater with my mom in December of 1991. So it holds a special place in my memories and in my heart. So off the beaten path we went! And man was it an awesome place!

Here's a trailer for the movie :)

Update: 08/20/17

I was inspired and created this "window" after watching the movie for the umpteenth millionth time. You can purchase one like it in the gift shop. - I am also thinking of making smaller versions....

You have to download the Audible App and listen to "Fried Green Tomatoes" Narrated by: Lorna Raver. I downloaded it several months ago and listened to it while at work. I laughed so hard and cried so hard that folks began to wonder if I was alright! :) (I am not an affiliate of Audible. I just like this version.)

Juliette is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Georgia, United States. The community is part of the Macon Metropolitan Statistical Area. Named for Juliette McCracken, daughter of a railroad engineer, the town formed with the merging of Brownsville and Iceberg. The film Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed there, and the town has been the focal point of three popular Southern humor books. After the filming of Fried Green Tomatoes, the sets used for the town's main street were renovated into a tourist district, complete with a fully operational "Whistle Stop Cafe". Wikipedia
