Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park, Florida

Hello my fellow adventurists! So back at the end of July, I went on a glamping trip with my brother. We went to the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park.

The campground itself is small. Which makes for a much quieter camping experience. Which is what I love. Peace, quiet and tranquility!

This preserve is known for the remoteness that makes it one of Florida’s premier locations for stargazing. But, because it rained EVERY EVENING, we were unable to see any stars or meteors. But the praire was beautiful none the less.

Can you see the angel in the photo?

Truly a majestic sight!!

My brother, being the grill master that he is, made us the most delicious in camp meals. His favorite would be steak night. But mine was grilled chicken night....and of course the breakfasts!

Off the trail topic...I have been using a temporary fire pit at base camp. But I have decided that eventually I am going to purchase one

of these park fire rings. Because they seem to be longer lasting then the "fancy" backyard pits.

I searched online and found that you can buy them from "RV Park Supplies". I have attached their link in the photo. (I am not in any way affiliated with the site.)

Now back to the trip.....

Here I am standing with the Park Ranger's Search and Rescue Range Buggy. It's fairly clean here, so I am guessing there hadn't been any recent rescues....as this park is a part of the acclaimed Florida Trail.

And of course, the gators are abundant. We didn't see any while walking around the park. But as we were leaving to head back to base camp, we saw a baby gator crossing the road. It was too fast so I was unable to snap a photo.

While in camp, we were fortunate to see Deer, Turkeys, Caracara Raptors, a Cotton Mouth Snake and a squirrel or two.

In a world that seems to be unraveling more and more each day, it helps to take a breath and a weekend trip to nature...to step back from the negativity and enjoy an undisturbed nature.

There are many different types of wildflowers to view as well.

Through all of the rain and everything, I highly recommend a visit to this quiet campground. It was a great place for my brother and I to share a weekend trip and create memories to last a lifetime.

I can't wait for our next sibling adventure!!

As of this posting, I do not have any adventures planned for the near future.

I am currently waiting for the hot Florida weather to turn a few degrees cooler. Then, I will be back out there!

So for now, take care. And remember,

Please take nothing but pictures...leave nothing but footprints! ~Tink
