It was a much needed get away. I hadn't been down to the Keys since I was in elementary school. We just drove down for the day. I will go back to spend more time down there, hopefully soon!

The Florida Keys are a string of tropical islands stretching about 120 miles off the southern tip of the U.S. state of Florida, between the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. They’re known as a destination for fishing, boating, snorkeling and scuba diving. The southernmost city of Key West is famous for Duval Street’s many bars, Mallory Square’s nightly Sunset Celebration and the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.

Area: 137.5 mi²

Only 90 miles to Cuba....

Ya don't see these very often...

Looking out towards Cuba.

Had to play tourist!!

Crab legs are my favorite food of all...

A "history" moment.

Whale Harbor Restaurant. It was a buffet type and the food was plenty and was awesome.

While in the Keys you have to try the Key Lime Pie...even if it's a mini!

Deep Sea fishing is on my list....

If I ever retire I plan on sailing a small boat down to the Keys and just hang out for awhile...
